Crazy Couple of Weeks!

Boy oh boy have we ever been busy! Let's start with the fun parts....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SPENCER on Nov. 17!!! We had a great time celebrating with family and friends although after all that birthday cake I'd be good going without for another year. Of course Spencer asked for a gun so that's what he got as his present and every present coming up for the next year but he is super excited about it and always has to make sure it's still where he put it last and it's still working just right...he is so darling I love it!

We also had the pheasant hunt a few weeks ago so we got up bright and early to be there at first light but it payed off and we had lots of fun together. We love the outdoors! I have to give spence crap for his smile in this pic but he gives me crap for all my layers of clothing and earmuffs along with a hat so we're even :-)

Now for the not so fun news, my Grandpa Dean passed away unexpectedly this last week and will be greatly missed! He was a good man and a wonderful Grandpa! It has been difficult and I can't even imagine what my Grandma must be going through but it makes me so very grateful for the gospel and my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation! It's comforting to know that this isn't the end and we will see him again and he is experiencing an incredible reunion with many loved ones. It also made me extremely grateful to know I am sealed to Spencer for eternity and I will never lose him, he is a good man and has been my rock through this whole ordeal! I also offer my gratitude to all the many friends and neighbors who offered their help and prayers, we couldn't have done it without you so thank you so much on behalf of our entire family!

So yes, it has been a hectic couple of weeks but it's times like these that stregthen us and our relationships. Life is going good and all is well!

Hunting, Hunting, Hunting
So the best part of the year has come and gone....the deer hunt and it was wonderful! We got to spend almost 2 weeks together! First, we headed up to the "coonskin cabin" for Spencer's hunt for a week where we had a blast hiking enough to try to burn off some small portion of all the food we ate up there. Then we went down to Blanding for my hunt where we saw more does then we could imagine but not one buck the whole time we were up there. So even though we didn't get anything, we had so much fun just being together all that time and getting away from the everyday hustle and bustle of our lives. There is nothing like the great outdoors!

All About Us

So just a quick update about us and how our life started and is now. We knew each other in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and met under rather awkward circumstances...long story. Well I moved after that and we never heard anything of each other until Viewmont's senior prom where Spencer was my cousin Ashley's date and I just happened to be in their group. Well long story short, we got back in touch, dated for 8 months, Spencer left on a mission and when he got back in February things worked out and Spencer proposed in June and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple in August. The wedding was wonderful, the reception was packed and even though it was good to celebrate our marriage with friends and family we were glad when it was over.

So now we have been married just over a month....we're practically pros now. We are doing great! The last month we have spent most our time working tons but we have found a couple days to go camping, spend time together and with family and friends, eat our chicken noodle soup in bed getting over a quick flu bug, and working together through the things that come with moving out and being on our own. I'm actually surprised at how well we are doing, everyone is always saying how the first year is the hardest and especially those first few weeks when you begin living together. If this is going to be the hardest part of our marriage we are going to breeze along no problem. We do have our differences and there is alot that we have to decide together on how we want to do things but for the most part we have agreed on almost everything and what we haven't we have found ways to compromise and choose what will work best for us as a family. Overall life is good and we are doing well and I'm so grateful I have Spencer as my eternal companion! He does so much for me and shows me more love than I've ever known he means the world to me and I'd do anything just to make him smile I love him so much!
